Guava Pickle

Guava pickle is a popular Indian pickle recipe made with some guava, chilli powder, oil ,etc. 

It’s usually served as a side dish for curd rice, parathas, dosa etc. 

 This is an instant guava pickle and can be done with in 20 mins. It can be served immediately; it gives you a great taste when preserved for 2 days. Since we haven’t used any preservative,store it in refrigerator and Consume it within 7 days. This pickle will be favorite for all guava and spice lovers. 


 

Ingredients:-

Guava                   - 1 

Mustard seeds      - 1 tsp 

Red Chilli               - 2 

Chilli powder         - 1 tbs 

Turmeric powder   - ¼ tsp 

Salt                        - 1 tbs 

Oil                          - ¼ cup 

          Mustard Seeds       - 1 tbs  

          Fenugreek seeds   - 1 tbs 


Instruction:-
  • Start with removing the skin of guava, wash it and grate it completely. 
  • In a pan add 1 tbs of mustard seeds, 1 tbs of fennel seeds roast it until it turns aromatic, do not burn. 
  • Roast it without adding oil  
  • Cool completely and grind it to a fine powder. 
  • In a large pan , add ¼ cup of oil followed by 1 tsp of mustard seeds, 2 red chilli wait until it splutter. 
  • Once its splutters, start adding grated guava. 
  • Cook for about 5 –8 min in medium flame. 
  • Keep stirring the guava else it will get burnt. 
  • Furthermore,add 1 tsp of salt, 1 tbs of Chilli powder, !/4 tsp of turmeric powder. 
  • Mix everything together and cook for 5 min in low flame. 
  • Finally add 1 tsp of mustard & fennel seed powder. 
  • Give it a final mix and cook till oil ooze out from the pickle. 
  • Switch off the flame and serve along with curd rice, parathas, Dosa etc...

  • Peel the skin of guava

  • Wash and grate the guava

  • In a pan add 1 tbs of mustard seeds and 1 tbs of Fenugreek seeds. Roast it till it turns aromatic.



  • Grind it to fine powder

  • In a pan, add 1/4 cup of oil

  • Add mustard seeds and red chilli (2). Let it splutter



  • Add the grated guava and cook for 5 mins


  • Now add salt, turmeric powder and chilli powder. Mix and cook well





  • Add the mustard & fenugreek powder

  • Mix well and cook untill oil ooze out.
